Assignment 4: Newsletter

The newsletter design was also kept simple and neat design. I have used two main colours and whitespace as a contrast in the design. The colours can make the newsletter look attractive and stand out. The layout also focuses on the alignment of the texts and content in the newsletter. High definition/quality illustration give more impact as viewers can see the photos clearly. I maintain to keep the sentences simple and not too long.

The process when creating this logo is I wanted to keep the minimalist concept in my logo. The minimalist concept is a trend nowadays. This is to create a "less is more" impact and approach to customers. That is why I choose a simple element like "a cup of coffee" in my logo. The element is clean, bold and simple with one colour and a good amount of whitespace. Whitespace is important in a design. Whitespace can make one logo memorable to the viewers. Viewers will recognize and understand the nature of the business/brand without a complicated design. The typefaces used in the logo is crucial too because it can make the logo stand out by avoiding too many typefaces. Two typefaces are enough. This logo can be versatile and adaptable anywhere because it can be used in a variety of sizes and colours.

Assignment 1: Logo

Assignment 2: Poster

I choose to do a blood donation poster for this assignment. When doing this poster, I try to use simple elements and an appealing design. I choose red as the background colour because the colour of blood is red. Viewers can easily understand the objective of the poster. I have used more than three typefaces in this poster but I am trying to keep the text readable to the viewers. I used centre alignment to create a neat design. The shapes and symbols used were organized with the whitespace in the poster. This is because I wanted the viewers to focus on the big element on the poster which is the image of hands. Only two main colours used in the poster to make the poster stand outs and not complicated or confusing to read.

Assignment 3: Brochure

When designing this brochure, I still wanted to keep the design simple but neat with a minimalist approach. All elements used in the design are related to the nature of our business. Colours used in the brochure are also related. I have used two typefaces in the brochure. Many typefaces can ruin the proximity of the design. Photos used in the design is in a high quality photography. The elements of icon used are in a similar sizes and align with each other. The sentences in the brochure are short and simple.

Assignment 5: Website

When I was designing this website, my main focus is on the written texts, the quality of the photos, and the button links. I wanted to make sure the hyperlinks are functioning. The map for the location is correctly shown and all the social media buttons are also working well when click. The videos and animation in the website are also in great transition. The theme for the website is neat and all the layout are align.
